What did we learn?
Sudden collapse, resuscitation, arrest of massive bleeding, but also a car accident – these are the situations that we focused on most during the course. We learned about key procedures that can help us keep our cool in crisis situations and react correctly and quickly.
We have obtained a simple, universal guide to dealing with a crisis situation called “Three Steps”:
- Look around – ensuring first aid safety and the most common risks, identifying the mechanism of injury
- React – how to treat a person with impaired consciousness and how to recognize dangerous conditions, resuscitation training including the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), stopping massive bleeding
- Make a decision – if the person is awake and responsive, find out as much information as possible and think about the next course of action
Thanks to practical simulations, we experienced first-hand how to react in the event of cardiac arrest, unconsciousness or a traffic accident. It was not only a great opportunity to learn practical skills, but also an experience that helped us understand the importance of a quick response.
We would like to thank ZDrSEM for a well prepared course which we really enjoyed. We are glad to have a team that is prepared not only for work challenges but also for unexpected serious situations. We now have the confidence that we can act responsibly and intervene when needed – whether at work or on the street.
