April Running and Walking Challenge 2025: we help by moving

April at M Computers is traditionally marked by movement, personal challenges and helping those in need. The fifth edition of our April running and walking challenge involved 21 colleagues from all three branches and together we once again showed that we are not lacking in energy and determination.

A challenge that motivates

Each participant set their own goal – how many kilometres they wanted to run or walk during April. One of the conditions was to meet at least the minimum limit: 30 km for running or 50 km for a combination of walking and running. Another rule was the minimum length of one route – we recorded all routes longer than 1.5 km in the challenge.

Throughout the month, everyone was able to motivate each other in a group on the Strava app and track their progress through regular reports on their performance. In addition, everyone was rewarded with a commemorative medal and a breakfast of champions for completing their goal.

This year’s results

The challenge was successfully completed by the vast majority of participants. Only two of us did not reach the finish line this time, but they still deserve a lot of credit for their efforts. One of the participants managed to cover the most kilometres, reaching an impressive 277 kilometres. The most kilometres were covered by another participant with more than 121 kilometres. In the combination of running and walking, there were also performances of over 140 kilometres.

In total, we managed to cover an amazing 1 896.38 kilometres in a whole month, which is a distance equivalent to, for example, the route from Brno to Bari, Italy!

Every step helps

But the challenge was not just about movement and overcoming personal limits. Every kilometer covered had a deeper meaning – for all the kilometers run and walked, our company M Computers contributed a financial amount to support the seniors in the Home for the Elderly in Bohunice.

This year we managed to raise a beautiful 18 964 CZK, which will be used to provide medical supplies, food and other important things for the elderly. This donation is part of our long-term cooperation and efforts to help where it is really needed.

By moving, our colleagues not only benefited their health and competed with each other, but above all joined forces for a good cause. Every step counted – and the result is not only a good feeling, but also concrete help.
