Tachyum was founded in 2016 with main goal to develop processor that will combine performances and functions of CPU, GPU and TPU with respect of low power consumption and manufacturing costs.
Deploying Prodigy chips in hyper-scale data centers will enable all AI, HPC, and universal applications to run on a single hardware infrastructure that saves companies billions of dollars a year.
These two companies plan to collaborate on development of open-platform supercomputers, science research, Big Data and AI, so on supporting innovations in certain industries and cooperating with other leaders within this sphere.
M Computers and Tachyum expect that this growth will be benefitial for high-tech investors, regional economics including growth of employment and more rewarding research.
Universal CPU Prodigy from Tachyum is designed to be capable of replacing most of existing chips in hyperscale datacenters and it delivers significant improvement by terms of performance, power consumption, server utilization and space requirements.
CPUs Tachyum Prodigy merge the performance of CPU, GPU and TPU to a single chip, which delivers cutting-edge performance in complex and universal instructions while being low cost and power efficient.
Currently, data centres consume over 4% of the world’s electricity predicted to be 10% by 2030, the ultra-low power Prodigy Universal Processor is critical to continue doubling worldwide data center capacity every four years.
Prodigy delivers unprecedented data center performance, power, and economics, reducing CAPEX and OPEX significantly. Because of its utility for both high-performance and line-of-business applications, Prodigy-powered data center servers can seamlessly and dynamically switch between workloads, eliminating the need for expensive dedicated AI hardware and dramatically increasing server utilization.
Tachyum plans to build the world’s fastest AI supercomputer (128 AI exaflops) based on Prodigy processors.
M Computers will work with Tachyo in the future to offer Prodigy processors for testing.
