May on the Move:
M Computers in the Bike to Work Challenge

11. 6. 2026

May at M Computers traditionally belonged to the sustainable movement. Once again, as a company, we took part in the nationwide May challenge Bike to work organised by the Auto*Mat association. For a month, our colleagues swapped the comfort of their cars for more environmentally friendly alternatives and headed to work on foot or in the saddle of a bicycle.

The aim of the challenge is not just to accumulate as many kilometres as possible. The main role is played by regularity, i.e. the effort to include sustainable movement in the daily routine as often as possible. This is also important in the team evaluation, where a threshold of at least 66.6% regularity for the whole month of May is expected.

Common statistics in numbers

14 enthusiasts actively participated in the challenge, forming a total of 5 teams across our branches in Brno, Prague and Zlín. All month long, they were honestly collecting kilometers and the resulting numbers are definitely worth it:

In total, we collected an amazing 1 521 km! To give you an idea, it’s like walking from Pisa through Rome to the very tip of Italy.

We saved 249.5 kg of CO₂. This is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 12 mature trees in a year!

Team results

The best performing team this year was Prague, which achieved a regularity of 86.5%. Second place went to Brno team #2 with 82% regularity and third place went to Brno team #3 with 76.7%.

In addition to the team standings, we were also pleased with the performance of the individuals. Some scored with regularity, others with accumulated kilometres and others showed that it is possible to manage the whole month on a bike.

But we are happy for everyone who took part in the challenge. Every kilometre, walk or bike ride counts – for our health, better fitness and more sustainable transport.

A little extra motivation

To make the challenge even more exciting, we have prepared our own internal motivation this year. Every individual who achieved at least 50% regularity during May received a voucher worth CZK 300 to Decathlon.

We didn’t forget the team part either. Teams that managed to maintain a regularity of at least 66% together could enjoy 1 000 CZK to celebrate their May performance together.

We wanted to encourage not only regular exercise, but also mutual motivation among colleagues.

We thank all participants for their energy, honestly recorded journeys and desire to move May together with us. We are already looking forward to where our own powers will take us next.
